Great post and question, Emmanuel.

I like them both (thank goodness the ARCAP rotor is no-longer painted gold...). Of the two, I prefer the original with the blue dial. But I'd buy neither of them - and I've been given the opportunity to do so. Like others have perhaps hinted at here, I ju

Sure! I meant the 363.179. That's the "standard" (unlimited) steel Odysseus that is self-winding and displays date/date. No chronograph. That model is called a "Datomatic,"

Odysseus is the family name, and Datomatic is the name of that model. There are 2 Odysseus models (so far): Datomatic and Chronograph. The Chronograph is a limited edition of 100. I was assuming you meant the Odysseus Datomatic (not Chronograph) when you

With a tip of my cap to Tony...

This is my 1815 Chronograph with the peerless L.951 caliber inside. Of the three generations of this watch, I like the current – third – gen the best. This generation began with the white gold Boutique Edition and restored the pulsometer flange to the dia

An introduction to my 2023 Watches and Wonders visit.

Let me start with a disclaimer. I could only attend the Watch Event for 28 hours, so I didn't have the time I used to have before. Still, I could visit most of the booths, so I decided to make a selection of what I found interesting. This is just my perso

I like your choices of the Rolex 1908 and the Cartier Tank Normale. Great looking pieces, though IMO they're not quite all that they could be.

The Rolex 1908 movement could be finished to a higher standard for the price point (or just lower the price). And while I absolutely love the platinum Tank Normal bracelet, the white metal handset leaves me cold. That watch would be a showstopper with a s

Very well said, Patrick. Only one product announcement/"novelty" is sparse for Lange...

... and an Odysseus chronograph was expected, given what Tony de Haas said when the Datomatic was launched. Some variation of, "Those pushers can be used for many things." I wonder if Lange has anything else that they could have launched but that they're

I wonder if we'll see this in another metal, like white gold, but not limited.

That seems to be what often happens. I hope to see this in person sometime. I liked the Odysseus Datomatic more in person than in the photos. I'm also curious how "big" it wears. The Odysseus Chronograph is 42.5mm x 14.2mm. Datograph Up/Down is 41.0mm x 1
